Since picking up a set of knitting needles at about age 10, Shannon has been fascinated by fiber. Over the years there haven’t been too many fiber arts she hasn’t tried. After watching a few videos she purchased a spinning wheel and a loom and fell in love with the process of turning fluffy wool into yarn and then ultimately woven and knitted items. Her art now focuses on handspun yarns predominantly spun from her own small flock of merino sheep, llamas and angora rabbits, hand dyed yarns in colors that showcase Montana’s colors and scenery and woven or knitted items. When she isn’t in her studio playing with yarn or out playing with her sheep she enjoys spending time with her family.
