Volunteer at the NW MT Fair! Volunteers get free admission to the fair on the day they volunteer plus one participation credit per hour. Email Lindsay for volunteer time slots - info@artistsandcraftsmen.org
The NW Montana Fair & Rodeo is celebrating 120 years! Arts and crafts show pieces have been a standard part of the fair from the beginning. From amazing hand drawn art to quilts that come alive! This is such a wonderful part of our local history. Some of the art displayed at the Fair is only seen there as it’s one of a kind. We encourage all members to enter their crafts into the fair and show our community your amazing talent. Come visit and see fellow artists work.
Did you know?
The NW MT Fair just renamed their “exhibitor of the year” award to be The Sharon Askelson Exhibitor of the Year Award!! Sharon won this award in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022. She has won this award more than any other competitor. Sharon, we miss you and are proud to see your name memorialized in this fashon!
Volunteer’s Heart~ - Jay Beranek
A Selfless soul, a helping hand, a heart of gold throughout the land. With time and care, they freely share, To mend the world, a loving pair.
No grand reward, no lofty prize, just simple acts that touch the skies. In every deed, a purpose gleams, to serve their neighbors, fulfill their dreams.
With open arms, and spirits bright, they bring back hope and shining light. A tapestry of kindness spun, their work is done when day is done
Artsy Autumn - Art/Craft Supply Market
Do you have excess art/craft supplies you need to get rid of? Ready to purge your stock of supplies from an art/craft medium you no longer do? How about extra display items you no longer use?
Consider participating in the Artsy Autumn Art/Craft Supply Market! September 21, 2024 - 9am to 4pm. Set up will take place the Friday before the event (exact times TBD).
This fundraiser is for our “Create it Forward” scholarship fund. And will be the 5th time we’ve hosted this event. We’ve experienced a great turn out every time and have seen all our participants clear out and find new homes for tons of great supplies. Plus, there are 3 other events also taking place at the Fairgrounds that day, so we expect lots of foot traffic and a great turnout.
Some suggestions for types of items you can sell would be anything that is considered an art/craft supply, tool or part. You can also include vendor display items, canopy tents, tables, display stands, grid walls, etc. We will also consider allowing the sale of tools. This is NOT a garage sale for all your discarded things, but if you have an items that could be considered as an “upcycling” supply, we may consider it. Please contact Ashley Bishop with questions about specific items - treasurer@artistsandcraftsmen.org
There are several ways to participate in this event:
-
You can sell your items - Pay a $25 up-front participation fee to reserve your spot. PLUS plan to donate 10% of your item sales to the scholarship fund – ACF will send you a check for the rest of your sales money after the event.
- Items must be tagged to include your name and item price. Tags will be pulled at checkout and totaled after the event.
- You can also rent tables from the fairgrounds for $5 each if you don’t want to bring your own folding tables to this event.
- We also ask that all participants plan watch over at least one “donation” table. .
-
You can donate (drop off) your surplus supplies. ACF will sell them and you donate 100% of money from sales to the scholarship fund. Leftover items will be saved for future markets or donated to local schools for art projects
- Donation drop off date/time will be determined later.
- You can be a volunteer – we can use all the help we can get! Plus, receive 1 ACF participation credit toward your 2025 Membership Tier for every hour that you volunteer.

2025 Summer Show Vote Results:
We are still working through the results of our vote on possible dates for 2025 Summer Show and what exactly they mean. But, here is a summary for you all of what the results look like so far:
Total Votes received = 88
Quorum Met - minimum of 53 votes needed to reach quorum
1st Choice Option did not have a clear majority on any option(s) - top 4 were all within 5% of each other. So, we also combined the 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice votes, we are left with 4 top options as follows:
1st Choice:
- June 20-22 - 19 votes (21.6%)
- June 13-15 - 18 votes (20.5%)
- May 16-18 - 16 votes (18.2%)
- June 6-8 - 15 votes (17%)
All Combined:
- June 13-15 - 50 votes (56.8%)
- June 6-8 - 46 votes (52.3%)
- June 20-22 - 41 votes (46.6%)
- May 16-18 - 41 votes (46.6%)
Other options were eliminated because they received no votes or were under 20% of the final vote totals. We also found it interesting that the top 4 combined results are the same top 4 in the “1st choice” list - just in a slightly different order.
We also had folks vote on whether they wanted 2-day or 3-day event. The votes are pretty much perfectly split as follows:
- No preference - 28 votes - 31.8%
- 3-day - 22 votes - 25%
- 2-day (Fri & Sat) - 22 votes - 25%
- 2-day (Sat & Sun) - 16 votes - 18.2%
Because we do not have a clear majority on any of the options, final determination will likely fall to Show Committee. We have also heard rumors that Food Truck Fest will NOT be held at the Fairgrounds next year, so that may affect our decisions and allow us to keep our same dates without being with the other event.
