By Ashley Bishop
As we step into the vibrant colors and crisp air of October, our creative energies are buzzing with inspiration. This month we have some exciting news, events, and seasonal projects to share with you.
Featured Artist of the Month: Ashley Bishop
Hi everyone, this is Ashley Bishop and I’m stepping into the spotlight for a moment. After some time away, I’ve rekindled my love for acrylic painting, and I’m thrilled to be teaching paint parties again.
This time of year, I’m particularly drawn to the themes of Halloween and Winter, which inspire many of my recent works. I’m excited to share these with you and hope they spark your own creativity.
Upcoming Fall events and workshops
Mark your calendars for our Wine Wednesday Wingo at Montavino Winery! We’ll be hosting this fun and lively event on October 9th and 23rd, November 6th and 20th and December 4th and 18th. Bingo kicks off at 6pm, and all proceeds go to our Create It Forward Scholarship program. It’s a fantastic way to unwind, connect with fellow members and support at great cause.
Autumn-Inspired Art and Crafts
This fall I have found myself inspired by the rich, warm colors of the season-especially in floral arrangements. Browns, oranges, and metallic bronzes are my go-to palette, and they’ve been popping beautifully in my recent creations. Whether you’re painting, crafting, or arranging. I encourage you to explore these hues and let the season’s beauty influence your work.
Community Impact
Our scholarship fund and fundraising efforts have been on my mind a lot lately. I’m excited to propose a new interactive fundraising booth at our Christmas show. Inspired by a Jail ‘n Bail booth I saw at a summer event, I pitched the idea at our August Board meeting. Now, I’m eagerly awaiting feedback from the Show Committee to see if we can bring this idea to life. Stay tuned for updates!
Halloween-Themed Projects
In the spirit of the season, I’m offering a special Discount for ACF members who book a paint party with me in October. You’ll receive $5 off per painter! It’s a great opportunity to get together with friends, create something spooky or festive, and enjoy some artistic fun.
Call for Volunteers & Donations
As we gear up for our Christmas show, we’re in need of donations for our raffle baskets. These baskets are always a highlight, and the proceeds help fund our various programs. Additionally we’re looking for volunteers to help run the HQ booth. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out-we would love your support.
To wrap things up, here is a little inspiration to carry with you through the Autumn. “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” Albert Camus
